adminTEHRAN (Tasnim) – Reigning three-time Iranian Basketball Super League titlist Shahrdari Gorgan learned its opponents in Season 2 of the FIBA West Asia League (WASL).
Each Sub-Zone League will feature two groups of four teams, with the top seed by the end of the round-robin Group Phase directly qualifying to the best-of-three Semi-Finals.
Gorgan is drawn in Group A along with Al Naft, winner of the last six Iraqi Basketball League crowns, Dynamo Club of Lebanon and returning Syrian side Al-Ittihad Ahli of Aleppo.
Group B consists of 2022-23 Lebanese Basketball Championship, Al Riyadi, 2022-23 Jordanian Premier League champions Al Ahli, Syrian Basketball League champion Al Wahda and Orthodox Beit Sahour from Palestine.
The second and third-ranked teams, on the other hand, will have to go through the Qualification to Semi-Finals, which is also a best-of-3.
