Borg made the remarks in the meeting with the Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amir Abdollahian on Thursday local time, on the sidelines of the 78th UNGA session in New York.
He added that we always need to meet and talk to know and better understand developments.
Malta’s Minister for Foreign and European Affairs highlighted that his country supports the progress of positive developments in Iran’s foreign and regional relations.
Iran’s Amirabdollahian in the meeting said that the cooperation capacities of the two countries in the fields of fisheries, agriculture, medicine and technology can be considered in expanding ties.
He said that Iran is interested in strengthening the cooperation of the two countries in the fields of ports and shipping.
Referring to Malta’s membership in the UN Security Council, Amirabdollahian termed it an opportunity to play a constructive role in international justice.
