Quran Desecration Aimed at Spreading Islamophobia, Iran’s President Warns

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi condemned the desecration of the Holy Quran in some parts of the world as an insult to humanity, freedom and spiritual values, saying such despicable moves are aimed at spreading Islamophobia and hurting the feelings of Muslims.

In separate messages on Monday, the Iranian president offered his congratulations to the leaders and people of Islamic countries on the birth anniversary of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH).

“His (the Prophet’s) precious life and moral standards are always the path-breakers and guides of human life and the most prominent role model for bringing human beings to perfection and closeness to God,” Raisi said.

“Islam is the religion of freedom and equality and the Holy Quran is the book of mercy and wisdom and the word of God, and insulting the Quran as a precious miracle of the Holy Prophet (PBUH) is an insult to humanity, freedom, values and spirituality, and the Islamic Republic of Iran strongly condemns such hateful actions that take place in some parts of the world in the direction of anti-Islamism that cause the hearts of Muslims to be wounded,” the president noted, his official website reported.

He also expressed hope for the expansion of unity and integration among the Muslim nations and the growth and promotion of Islam all over the world, which is the ideal of the Islamic Ummah.
